Tip 5: Push the Benefits!

When doing marketing never forget to push the benefits, the main thing that you audience want to know is what’s in it for them. You message should be personal to the individual reading it. If in doubt just spell out the benefits, smart witty jargon is useless if people don’t know why they should buy.

Is a Vinyl PVC banner going to get you the graduate? The Graduate Recruitment Fair.

This month see’s one of the bigest recruitment fairs of the year taking place in London. Who are the target audience? Graduates. But are shiney pvc vinyl banners really enough to bring in the new talent that you are looking for?

Trying to find new staff is fairly easy. Trying to find good new staff is one of the geatest ongoing problems that business owners and business runners face in modern times. Getting the right combination of personality and skill base is very difficult. Finding that combination at a price you can afford is even more troublesome! This is why the graduate recruitment fair is so popular.

The fair gives employers a chance to bring in fresh blood. A graduate is going to be cheaper than employing a fully trained profesional. More than that however, a graduate is moldable. Taking a freshly untrained graduate gives you the opportunity to make them work in the way that you want them to work. All the stylistic differences never come into play because you are teaching them. Any difference in work ethic can be quickly nuteralised because you have the chance to teach them their work ethic. So a graduate is potentially going to be the best employee you have, not in the short term, but in 10years time.

Hoever, there are alot of students graduating, and not all of them are the talented inteligent potential employees that you are looking for! So how do you attract the smart ones?

A good exhibition stand is essential. Being able to attract in people to your stall to talk to you and your company is the first step. Branding can come into play here very strongly. I once saw a company place a building wrap with their logo on the building oposite the exhibition hall. This meant that even though they were a new company, by the time everyone was inside, they thought that they had seen them before because they had subconciously seen the logo on the building wraps outside.

However, having a good quality banner stands isn’t enough. You really have to  have a unique selling point. Think about what extra you can offer your graduate. Good prospects, potential for growth - these things will all make a difference.

One final thing. Freebies! Yes they may about to become working adults, but the training of three years of student hood leaves its mark, and at this point they will be suckered in by a good freebie!
