Marketing advice & guides

Tip 1: You can only improve what you can measure

Stop all marketing where you are unable to measure the return. Unless of course the return is obvious. If you do not have the capability of measure the success of a marketing campaign you have no way of knowing how succeful it is or how to improve it. Load of companies waste money paying for radio adverts, TV commercials under the guise of building a brand then go bankrupt after not gain the returns.

Brainstorming ideas - from roller banners to exhibition stands

exhibition hall being set upAttending exhibitions are a fantastic way of marketing. You get the opportunity to meet a plethora of potential clients all in the same place very quickly in a short space of time. Also the conversion rates tend to be quite high as the people attending often do so because they are looking to buy. They can lead to long term relationships with new companies, and the contacts you can potentially make in a few days may well last you for the rest of the year.

However, at the same time, if you are not prepared you may well find yourself incapable of taking advantage of all the potential customers being in the same room as you. The competition is tough, and you are sitting beside competitors, so it is really important to make sure that when you go to trade exhibitions with a stand, that you are well prepared and have the right stand to attract the level of client that you are looking for. This is where you will find yourself in need of good exhibition graphics and stands. Trying to visualise a large stand can be quite difficult. If you are new to exhibitions, how can you decide what you need, and in what size and what quantity?

If you are in based near Manchester, then as of last month your problems have been solved on this front. Image Group (uk) have recently opened Britain’s largest exhibition and brainstorming centre, and use of the centre is completely free. The centre is three thousand five hundred square foot and has been purpose built specifically for clients thinking about going to exhibitions. If you are planning to represent your company at an exhibition, it will give you a chance to actually see what the different banner stands would look like. Whether you were originally thinking about buying roller banners and pop up display stands, or having a specialist setup purpose built for your needs, the centre gives you a chance to see exactly what the products would look like.

Being able to see and touch the actual stands can make such a difference when you are putting your stand together. It is an invaluable opportunity if you are planning for an exhibition, but even more than that for me is the access to knowledge. Exhibition experts are on hand within the space to answer any questions you may have, and help with brain storming your ideas. If you know little about how to set things up, they will lead you through the process of considering your goals and how to achieve them – and you may find you end up with a stand that is different than you imaged, but much more effective, due to combining things correctly. A PVC banner is much more effective when complimented by other large printed material.

Kevin Rowe, the marketing director behind the concept told PN Services of their success so far:
“Clients have even enjoyed free transport to and from the mainline railway stations here in Manchester. They arrive fresh and depart fed, watered, informed and invigorated.”

If you would like to visit the brainstorming centre, you can contact Andy Morris on 0800-398-9898 to book in a time slot.
